4 days to see the world anew: a masterclass in cinematic photography from scratch in southern Spain
Imagine a cozy village in southern Spain, where time slows down, and each day begins with sunshine and a view of the mountains. We invite you to spend 4 days learning to see the world through a phone lens, capture moments you haven't noticed before, and immerse yourself in a creative atmosphere. We'll take care of everything: you'll stay in a unique designer hotel where every corner is like a ready-made photograph. Breakfasts at a large table, lunches in authentic Spanish cafes, dinners with wine and conversations about creativity - all this will become part of your photo journey. In the evenings, we'll review participants' work and watch movies on a projector under the open sky. Program:: "Hello! My name is Tanya, I'm a photographer and documentary filmmaker." Photography for me is more than a profession. It's a way to be in the moment, to stop and see beauty in the ordinary. In 16 years of working as a photographer, I've realized one thing: photography is always a discovery, each time a new one. We live in a world where our phones are constantly in our hands, but how many times a day do you really notice what surrounds you? And how often do you get distracted while watching a movie? We forget what it's like to immerse ourselves in one thing, to be in the present moment.
Our masterclass is an opportunity to regain this feeling.
We'll learn not only photography technique but also the art of seeing.
You'll learn how to make shots that convey the beauty of life, and even more - how to find beauty in what at first glance seems "not beautiful".
"In September, we'll conduct a masterclass on cinematic photography from scratch, and over 4 days we'll go through a creative journey together"
- Theory and practice In simple terms and with examples, I'll explain how to set up a phone camera, how to work with composition, light, and color. We'll discuss the importance of shooting point and learn to navigate in any conditions to take a great shot.
- Analysis of world famous photographers works. We'll study the photos of masters, break them down into details: what makes them so unique and what we can learn from them. Each day - new examples, new lessons.
- Tasks and exercises. After each theoretical part - a practical task that will help reinforce the knowledge. These tasks are simple and interesting, and they will teach you to see light, work with portraits, photograph on the street, and even create self-portraits.
- Portraits. We'll discuss how to photograph people - loved ones, friends, or strangers. You'll learn to catch the moment, see a person's character and mood through the lens.
- Light is our main character. Understanding light is the basis of good photography. We'll learn to see how light works in different conditions: morning, day, evening, indoors and outdoors. Once you master this skill, you'll be able to take a great shot in any conditions.
- Self-portrait. This practice will reveal a lot of new things about yourself. Someone might decide to make a silhouette portrait, someone might dare to show their vulnerability, and someone might discover something in themselves that previously seemed like a flaw, but now they'll see beauty in it.
- Street and strangers. How to photograph on the street. How to find the unusual in the familiar? And why you don't need to "look for a plot" - it's already around you.
At the end, you'll receive a list of photographers, films, and books that will help you develop further. But most importantly - you'll have a clear structure in your mind of how to take great photographs. You'll start seeing and feeling light in a new way, noticing beauty in the ordinary.
